Englewood 2010

The City of Englewood Parks and Recreation Department, Englewood Unleashed, and local businesses are partnering with EnviroWagg, LLC to do an eco-friendly make-over for Canine Corral, a fenced off-leash dog park at 4848 S. Windermere Street. Englewood is home to 6,000+ dogs that contribute tons of dog waste to landfills. This recycling program will divert approximately six tons of this waste per year and process it into DOGGONE GOOD COMPOST®.

Parks and Recreation will provide separate bins at the park so that dog owners can dispose of dog waste and trash in separate receptacles. The current plastic pick-up bags will be replaced with oxo-bio bags that are more compatible with composting. Additional stations with oxo-bio bags will be installed at Centennial and Jason parks. The composting program itself will initially be limited to Canine Corral (see details).

This program is made possible through the generosity of local businesses that have "adopted" doggie bag dispenser stations at the three parks. Signs recognizing their contributions will be posted on the dispensers.
