Westminster
Hills Dog Park
The City's Open Space Program
and EnviroWagg teamed up on composting at
this location in Fall 2008. Since then approximately
12 tons of dog waste has been collected
from the site and processed into compost.
Because the park is located at the head
of a scenic trail, it is one of the biggest
and most popular off-leash dog parks in
the Front Range area. Westminster Hills
offers plenty of parking, a covered kiosk
for posting messages and dispensers filled
with free degradable pick-up bags.
Open Space has provided
two receptacles - one designated for dog
waste only and the other for trash. The
receptacles contain 8-ft. bags suspended
underground which lift out for collection.
This system saves fossil fuel by minimizing
the number of collections needed.
Local businesses support
this program by sponsoring signs on dispensers
and messages printed on the dog bags provided
at the park.
Help us thank the Westminster
Hills sponsors by patronizing their businesses!
